What is Tao

Tao is the global name given to the natural order of all that exists; it is the absolute unity from which emanates the incessant fluid that gives origin to all things and to all the processes of the universe; it is the supreme and mutable reality that maintains the only constant that embraces all aspects of reality: change. Whoever understands and accepts it can integrate and live in complete harmony with the Tao.

From the Tao emanates the etheric energy that surrounds the immeasurable space and the purpose of the Taoist is to explore the world of infinite consciousness until reaching pure consciousness; this is a way to find the truth and the essence of all things. Tao can be literally translated as way, way, path; it is the formula and instruction to achieve something.
Taoism is not just another religion, it is the real essence of all doctrines, it is the spirit that has inflamed all religious beliefs in the world that at the moment of their birth are luminaries that guide entire humanities, but when these fall into decadence due to dogmas and rites, the divinity takes the universal foundations of the Tao and projects them under new doctrinal forms according to the needs of the time.

The central theme of Taoism is the Tao itself, but when speaking of the Tao, the essential theme that is focused on is equilibrium, which is the way in which one manages to remain stable even when subjected to two or more forces of the same intensity that can act in opposite directions.

Inherent to Taoism are philosophy, cosmology, ecology, religion, morality, physiological anthropology of human beings and Taoist sexuality, among other subjects of study, in an oral tradition that is transmitted in a colloquial way from master to disciples.

Essentially, the purpose of Taoism is centered on a humanistic, scientific and religious effort aimed at instilling the conviction and the need to lead a life according to the laws of nature, with a view to inferring a canon of ethical norms recommendable to every man with a practical goal.

In other words, the objective of the Tao is to provide new bases for forging a real society, modifying people’s way of life; it is a message for those brave, honest, just men of good will, on whose scarcity Taoism insists; hence the urgent need for a doctrine with a practical and current method, which helps to build peace and happiness in the present life where good practices are more useful than the promises of salvation in the homilies of the ambo.

The Tao continues to be as simple as it is inspiring and perhaps this is the reason why it was able to fulfill its transcendental objective: to go beyond a simple philosophical reflection to become now the science and religion of the Colombian people. Its principles, postulates and foundations are the same and continue to be the basis of a new culture, and just as in times past, Taoism has demonstrated its superiority in the art of living, ancestral medicine, exercise, nutrition, etc.
